"I have had a 40" Sony Bravia tv for the past 2 and a half years and felt it was time for a larger set. I seen this TV on sale in the flyer for $499.00. Couldn't get over the price for a 46" 1080P TV.
I have read / heard negative reviews and feedback regarding RCA and their flat screens, however I figured I would see for myself and purchased the TV.
The box was huge and awkward to carry and the TV must have weighed about 60 lbs. I loaded it in my car brought it home, took it in the house and set it all up. There was a large bright white dead pixel right in the middle of the screen. I had to load the TV back in the box, then the car and then back to the store. I exchanged for another set and returned home and set the TV up to find the same problem. A large bright white dead pixel towards the bottom this time.
I called RCA themselves and asked about this issue. They said "Oh, if it's one dead pixel it's nothing to worry about, you can go ahead and use the set." - Yeah, like I want something that's broken to begin with.
I brought the TV back to Canadian Tire and got a refund. I`ll stick with the top brands and go with a larger Sony.
In saying this, maybe it just so happened that I was unlucky and purchased two bad sets.
The quality of the screen was actually quite good. The colors very vibrant and the clarity was amazing. The screen was very crisp and sharp."
