Great Charcoal

Date:April 18, 2011
"This charcoal is great. Burns hot, produces low amount of ashes and it's priced right. Yes there are better options at speciatly stores (Wicked Good, BGE, etc) but you'll over pay for those brands. For my money and the large amounts that I go through each year this is my go to fuel."

Royal Oak Lump charcoal

Date:November 1, 2010
"For this price, this has been just about the best charcoal I've used in my kettle bbq. I've used several premium coals before that do burn cleaner, faster, and do in fact smell better but at a cost that's hard to justify. The sacrifices you make are more than made up with the price tag. The only thing I really found with this coal was the size of quite a lot of pieces were easily fallen through the grate and it does take some practice getting it to heat up.
If you are an all year round BBQ'er and go through a lot of charcoal, this brand and canadian tire are the way to go."

Excellent product

Date:May 11, 2010
"Not the best lump charcoal on the market, but it's a very good product. Note, I have used lump that burns longer, lights quicker, and smells better - but they're premium priced and only available in a few markets in Canada. This is my go-to charcoal and I burn a lot of it in a year - at least 80 bags. Once in a while I come across a rock or other foreign object but that can happen with just about any other brand. Cdn Tire rocks for stocking this year round! (But hard to find end of season sales!)"

Very good product

Date:January 5, 2009
"This is a good, high quality product. There are not too many small lumps in the bag which can propose a problem of falling through the grate on your smoker."
