Easy to Use

"Pucks in a floating chlorinator have proven to be the easiest method of maintaining chlorine in my pool. This bucket will last me usually about 1 1/2 seasons in my 32x16 IG pool. I used to have an automated chlorinator but it got troublesome in its old age and while I love automation, the floaters were simply too cheap and too easy to ignore any longer. I try to maintain a basic modest chlorine level with pucks and when necessary I shock using the cheap no-name brands of Ultra-Bleach (whatever CTC carries at the time) which keeps my chlorination costs very reasonable during a season. The only downside I have with pucks is that the stabilizer in the pucks makes them acidic (low PH) and with acid rain it means even more work to keep PH in proper range. Ultra-Bleach (or Liquid Pool Chlorine) is high PH so offsets this a bit.
FYI: Bleach, Ultra-Bleach and Liquid Pool Chlorine are all just solutions of Sodium Hypochlorite in water. Bleach is 5.25%, Ultra-Bleach is 6% and Liquid Pool Chlorine is 10% but at a 30% price premium after bottle size and solution strength are factored. If you go this route, just make sure to get plain ultra-bleach, not any that have added ingredients like lemon scent or color guards, etc."

"These pucks do not "melt away in a day" like those I've purchased from the pool stores. They really do last a whole week in my chlorinator. Saves me time and money. I highly recommend them."
