Hunters best friend

"If you like to hunt and take the time to prepare your game right than you need this knife. cuts meat like a dream, good sheath. only thing is if your sloppy and hit a bone the blade may dent and ruin your edge but is easily fixed with a speedy sharp."

almost perfect
Date:January 16, 2010
"as a survivalist this knife is the next best thing to bring perfect. more or a hunting/military design, the only things that would improve this knife would be a single bevel edge instead of the 2 bevel edge it has and a horizontal sheath. the blade stands up to all my beating on it (notching figure 4 traps and the like) and is really an all around excellent knife. my suggestion would be to buy this knife and either purchase or craft your own sheath to replace this only ok production sheath. Happy hunting!"

Great knife
Date:January 10, 2010
"Great knife Buck has made. I take it with me hiking and hunting. Sheath is very thick leather.
Only problem I have had is I droped it from belt high and now the hilt is loose."

Great Knife

"420C carbon steel. misnamed stainless in the add, this knife holds an edge well, and with full-tang construction will stand up to the test of time. Great knife."

Great Knife - A Civvy Equivalent to the K-BAR
Date:November 26, 2008
"I purchased my first Buck Knife nearly 24 years ago at Canadian Tire. I carried it through my wilderness travels and during my time in the military. While I dabbled with other blades, such as the Old Timer Sharpfinger, this is the best all around knife I know and am comfortable with. It is rugged, weighted beautifully and while not the best skinning tool, it makes that up with a blade that keeps it's edge longer than others I've had. I bought a second one two months ago, and was surprised that it is absolutely unchanged! Not so the sheath but it's still good quality. And the price is also unchanged after 24 years. Now that's amazing."

Good strong blade, average handle
Date:July 27, 2008
"Buck has always made great quality knives. The 119 was my first knife. This knife is easy to sharpen and is overall a great quality piece. The only beef I have is the handle. The handle is difficult to get a good grip on. It can get very slippery and difficult to use. The lack of a serrated edge does put limitations on its applications."

Fantastic Blade
Date:October 27, 2007
"I found this knife to be exceptionally useful on hunting, fishing, and camping trips. Also living on a farm for all my daily chores and general uses. The leather sheath is great, allowing easy access and carrying, with the only flaw being the snap will open under compression. The knfie itself can be sharpened to an incredible level, I actually replaced my razor and strop with this knife and find it much better."

"This is a good camping knife. It holds a sharp edge for most tasks. Blade is a little thicker then most. But you may lose your grip when using this knife in the rain or cold. The sheath holds the knife in place by a wrap around flap and snap. This makes it easy and fast to open, some times you have to visibly check that is closed. The snap will open if it catches on your arm. A good knife but if you are a hiker you must frequently check to make sure it is still there."
