"Grabbed it when it came on sale in order to have
something to keep me legal.
Was VERY pleased when I got it home and unpacked it.. All parts where there and even the paint was quality. Went together easy.
Attach this to the wall and floor using the supplied screws and while it will not stop a determined thief, it will give them a bit of an issue."

Cheep bang for your buck

"It does what it needs too, Scoped rifles turned it from a 8 gun case to a 5 due to space. Smaller shelf holds a few items but i think it needs to be bigger. But i paid 74.99 plus tax so whos complaining. Recommend waiting for a sale when purchasing. but do recommend as it is better then under the bed for storage :)"

Sturdier than it looks!

Date:January 21, 2013
"I received this cabinet for Christmas. Unlike many other gun cabinets, this easily fit my Remington 870 shotgun and a number of rifles. I would recommend the StackOn pistol cabinet for additional storage as well, even if you dont own handguns. The inside shelf is on the small side, I would have liked for it to at least extend to the back wall of the cabinet. I also question the durability of the foam barrel rests, but other than that, this product exceeds my expectations."

Basic storage meets federal storage requirements

Date:January 7, 2013
"Great price when on sale which is quite frequent. Required by law. Only bad thing it sticks out like a big green thumb and its obvious whats stored inside if someone breaks in. Don't think it will keep the bad guys out if they want in. Best to install bolted against the side wall in a closet so there is no space to leverage a crowbar etc. I also used some construction adhesive against the drywall so if someone tried to yank it out it was going to be difficult."

Excellent Quality & MADE IN THE USA for a change!

Date:December 30, 2012
"Unbelievable! A beautiful cabinet for the right price - $75 on sale from reg price $149.99 and BONUS……MADE (not assembled either) IN THE USA of all places! Although a powder coating finish is the best, this epoxy paint finish is very highly appealing and well applied. Product has sturdy and smart packaging and came without a scratch or any damage – and, another BONUS - no styrofoam! Instructions are in American English. This unit is surprisingly sturdy after assembly – not tinny - and most likely will do the job of securing contents from the curious. If bolted to a wall, it will discourage lazy criminals. This cabinet holds my interest in that one would prefer a fire-rated safe but let me tell you – I witness what a safe in the $1500 range (up to $2000 in some places) can do in a house fire and guess what? The door popped open in the heat – firemen said that was typical. So, pay big for fire-rating and lock-up or pay for lockup and this lockup meets a good quality minimum. I intend to email Canadian Tire encouraging them search out more domestic suppliers. STACK-ON has my vote and from what I see on the net, the huge plant they have should allow Canadian Tire to seek out addition products."

Excellent Value

Date:September 16, 2012
"I bought this gun cabinet for half price ($99.99). It was about time I "legalized" my gun collection by locking them up.
Some sockets/ratchets (3/8", 7/16", 7/8") and screwdrivers (Phillips) were required for assembly and it was very simple to assemble. The metal walls are thin, but overall quality seems very good. The lock seems very robust. The cabinet is pre-drilled to screw to the wall (holes on 16" centres) and comes with four large screws to do so.
Like other reviews say, fitting eight guns inside may be a challenge, but at this price you can buy more than one if you need more room.

Not Bad

"Nice cabinet for the sale price of $90. Assembly is a breeze. But note, if you have rifles with scopes they will not fit into the foam rests (scope hits the side panels and rifle will not rest into foam support)"

Pretty good

Date:July 15, 2012
"Just purchased one of these yesterday. As long as you have a wrench, or an 11 mm socket set, it will be a breeze to put together. Takes about 1 hr going at a liesurely pace. The only problem I had was that the top plate was out of spec in terms of depth. The left side fit perfectly, but the right side was 1/2" too wide so I could not bolt it to the frame. I simply took the top back to the local CT store and customer service gave me a new one without any hassle. A+ customer service. On a whole the safe is quite sturdy. I already own the 10 gun ready-assembled cabinet, and (if properly assembled) this unit is just as sturdy. My only gripe is the foam barrel rests...they don't offer much support for my firearms and they seem to soak up any oil that is on my barrels. As long as you keep them oiled every now and then, shouldn't be a problem. Oh, and don't bother with the top shelf if you have long firearms. On a whole, not a bad purchase on sale"

Excellent customer service

Date:July 12, 2012
"I bought one of these 2 years ago and graducally wore out the lock from use. One day I had trouble getting in and it took a while to finally get the door open. I came very close to having to drill out the lock.
I called stack-on's 800# and told them about the problem. I was asked how long I owned the product. My answer was " well past the one-year warranty." They sent me a brand new lock and key set... free of charge. If that doesn't qualify as first rate customer service... what does?
I am a lifetime stack-on customer from this point forward.

Great Gun Cabinet

"Have had this cabinet for a few years now with no issues. Takes up little space and compliments the Stack-On pistol cabinet, by securely attaching on top of this cabinet for added secure space/storage."

Great cabinet!

Date:January 8, 2012
"I guess I was not expecting a Cannon safe when I bought this cabinet so although there are many better ones on the market, I found this one to be great!
I have both long shotguns, bush rifles and scoped rifles and by mixing and matching placement, I had no problem fitting 8 in the cabinet. I store boxes of ammo flat on the top shelf and have never had them fall off.
I hunt every day I can and have a lot of guns and I highly recommend this. Unless your Jim Shockey, you won't need much more than this!

Good for the Money if it's on Sale

Date:December 26, 2011
"Bought this on sale for $75. Its well worth $100. Advantages are the fasteners are tamper proof from outside the cabinet, there are lots of fasteners which make this a sturdy little unit when it is assembled.
The major disadvantages I seen are longer firearms will not fit under the shelf which is too tiny to begin with, virtually useless. More importantly is the barrel rest for the guns is a very low quality foam and is totally unacceptable. Zero chance of giving the firearms any stability leaning in this cabinet. I am going to make my own from Oak or Maple and line them with felt.
I bought this as a temporary cabinet to use until I get a bigger fireproof safe, and I plan to use it as an ammunition cabinet after that."

Good for the money

Date:December 10, 2011
"I bought one of these a few years ago and was a little worried about the spacing in between the bolts. A crowbar could be used to bend it open. So I added pop rivets in between where it bolts together and that has made it more secure. It is a good little cabinet for the money if you get it on sale. I recently gave it to my son to store his ammunition in."

Rock Solid

Date:December 9, 2011
"The photos on the box don't do this cabinet justice. The heavy gauge steel, with the carriage bolt construction makes this cabinet rock solid. And not just a few bolts, there are lots of them. I thought for sure the cabinet would be flimsy but that is not the case. The door is mounted from the inside, making it tamper proof. The lock and key action are solid and feels secure, since it is secured from the top, bottom and side. The option of left or right hand opening was a plus for my needs.
The shelf inside is a tad bit small, but there are two holes in the top that allow for an extention to be made out of wood, if you are so inclined. This works only if your gun barrels are not long. If you have a combination long guns and pistols, this might be a bit small. The instructions are clear, and definitely written by some one whose Engilsh is their first language. No guessing, and simple to assemble (20 minutes for me). The fasteners are in imperial not metric. This is not a top end safe model, and is priced accordingly. However, If you have a few firearms, and you want them to be secured as per legal requirements, this will fit the bill."

Good starter cabinet

Date:June 25, 2011
"The cabinet is a great starter must have item.
But if you thinking of buying a very long barreled gun i suggest u get something bigger.
I have a tough time fitting several of my long barreled shotguns it.
But it is a great cabinet, and does the trick without taking alot of room up"

Good start

Date:April 1, 2011
"I agree with the other reviews, buy this on sale. Its a good starter case, however when my boys get older and I get more guns I will upgrade to a safe style with combo lock.
The locking mechanism was fussy as described by others, however I loosened the bolt holding it to the door, and sprayed some rem oil into the key hole. Works great now.
I will probably remove the top tray as it is pretty useless. It will also keep me from keeping 8 guns in there."
