"I say surprisingly good because I am constantly surprised by the branches these cut through and how surprisingly easy they do it.
They also seem to be staying very sharp, no sign of it getting any harder to cut branches even after a fair amount of use. Would definitely recommend."

Good product (had it for more than 8 years)

"Mine is older than 8 years old and it still works fine (mind you, I only use if for a few minutes a year). Except for the year a tree came down in my back yard and I had to trim down all the smaller branches so that I could dispose of them.
Very little effort required to cut tree branches as large as 1 inch. The largest I have cut is about 2 inches."

Borrowed a friend's - now getting my own!

"I have a set of Fiskars single pivot loppers that I bought a number of years ago - I still love them. BUT - I had mine while helping a friend clear some brush at his cottage this summer, and he had a pair of the Power Gear Bypass Loppers.
I couldn't believe how easily they cut through large stock. The single pivot ones I have are good for the small stuff - maybe up to 1", but anything larger is a huge strain. With the Power Gear Bypass Lopper - 2" stock - even hardwoods - are no problem. I'll be getting them on sale this week, just in time for the fall clean up."

"Light weight yet powerful, the blade bites into the branches easily.
I've been using this tool to prune all my small trees and evergreens.
After each use a quick spray with Motomaster Silicone Lube Product #38-1504-8 and wipe it with a rag will keep the blades clean of tar and gummy residues."

Best Decision Ever

"The dreaded spring clean-up. We had just started to trim unwanted scrub when my loppers broke. We went to Canadian Tire and found Fiskars were on sale. BEST DECISION EVER. I have had them for 3 years and they haven't rusted. They really do cut through 2" of tree refuse, just as sharp when originally purchased, and the best part of the Fiskar Platinum Power Gear Bypass Lopper is that it is so easy to use. With Carpal Tunnel in my wrist I don't have the strength or power, but with the gear system I can cut everything with ease. Money well spent. I love the Fiskars collection, and I'll never buy another brand."
