Planters' Pride Fibre Grow Eco Grow Pellets, 20-Pk

Pellets can be used for indoor seedling starts. Pellets are made from eco-friendly, hyper-renewable coconut fibre - a more durable and mould resistant material than peat. .

Disappointed

Date:April 9, 2011
"I thought these would be comparable to the peat-pellets I buy from Canadian Tire every spring - they're not even close. (these were the only pellets they had and they were on sale)
They don't swell/expand very much, dry they're about 1/2" thick and they only swell to about an inch - they stay too hard for some seedlings to flourish. I tried giving them a little squeeze here & there to loosen the soil but then they dry out VERY quickly.
I think the package said they're from Vietnam? It looks like tthere's coconut fibre in them but no idea what else might be mixed in... plus, the mix isn't consistant - some look as though they contain pure coconut fibre and others look like they don't have any coconut fibre at all.
I'm not a fan but depending on what you're growing maybe you'll like them!
(I'm growing moonflowers, morning glory, strawflowers and decorative grasses)"
