Trap takes advantage of the fact that wasps cannot fly straight down. Wasps are attracted into trap using sugar water, juice, beer, etc.. Once inside, they cannot escape and drown.

effective

"I have FOUR of these distributed around my yard. One on the front of my shed, one on the back, one hanging high up on the playset and one near the deck. All FOUR are FULL of dead wasps each year."

I can finally eat in the backyard
Date:September 21, 2012
"I tried others before I finally found this one. I have used two all summer long and they work great. The trick is filling the traps with a half-inch of fruit juice and adding a few drops of laundry soap, which kills them. I hang them off tree branches in shaded areas to keep the evaporation to a minimum. I empty the traps out once a week and refill."

product has flaw
Date:August 24, 2012
"I've tried these traps over a couple of summers now with only minimal success. Trying different bait etc. It will catch some wasps..but what I noticed this summer is a flaw in the product (or else the wasps are getting smarter). On numerous occations I'd be sitting on the deck and trapped wasps inside have actually found the holes they came in by and flew back out!! I was quite surprised. For this reason, I only give it 2 stars. Try the Raid disposable traps. No mess or drips from making up bait. Everything comes contained and lasts for weeks, then just throw them away. And none come back out!! The extra cost is worth it."

Skeptical at first!
Date:August 12, 2012
"I put 1 trap out first to see if it would work - I was amazed at how quickly we had some wasps trapped!! Another one went up and the same thing! Today I think we might have trapped the 'queen' - I'm not sure, but in comparison to what we have been trapping, this thing is 'big'! Right now a lot of wasps are on the trap itself, but if this is the queen, we could be seeing the end of at least 1 nest! Highly recommend this is you are having a problem with wasps in your yard!"

"Product is a great idea. It attracts wasps however, they have found their way out. You need to wipe vaseline all over the inside of the container so that when they fly around the inside, their wings get vaseline on them and they can no longer fly."

Non poisonous answer to wasps.
Date:April 14, 2008
"Late summer always seems to bring out the wasps and hornets around here -- this proved to be an effect control measure last year - and without pesticides - so very safe around animals."
