Not as good as Raid

Date:October 17, 2012
"I usually use Raid, but saw this on sale and decided to try it. I used it on a few wasp nests over the year, and while both will kill wasps (and pretty much any other bug; used this on some aphids and it worked great), only Raid seems to have any sort of residual activity. With this stuff, the wasps I don't directly hit never die. They can literally land on a sprayed (and still wet) surface and nothing happens. I have a nest in one of those black plastic composts, and 3 liberal applications of this stuff hasn't made a dent, despite the wasps having to fly through debris soaked in wasp spray. I've never had the same issue with Raid, and I've used it on all sorts of different nests (in the ground, in another compost, on eaves, etc.).
I should note that CIL/Wilsons do sell many sprays with the same ingredients as Raid (permethrin, typically), and it's the active ingredient that you really need to pay attention to rather than the brand. The can of CIL Wasp & Hornet I have uses tetramethrin and sumithrin. In my experience, I'd have to say those 2 are not so great. Products listing "pyrethrins" aren't being specific, as that's just the name for the class of chemicals almost all insectisides are made with. It's like saying a fuel contains hydrocarbons; well, duh. Hopefully this helps someone, although it seems like others have had a better experience with this particular product, so maybe I just had a bad batch.:)
The product design itself is fine. The can shoots reasonably accurately over several feet. From 6 feet or so, you can get it exactly where you want it."

Does the job. Priced better than competing product

Date:July 4, 2012
"Also branded as "Wilson Wasp and Hornet"
Worked great, sprayed a volleyball sized nest at night time. One or two escapees but spray seemed to have dealt with all the wasps in the nest. The marketed 20' spray is optimistic, plan on 12' to 15' of stream, beyond 15' the stream widens and you can't get the product into the entrance hole. Spray stream is most focussed at beginning so aim for entrance hole. As can empties and spray strength weakens, spray entire outside of nest to soak it. Leave nest for 48 hrs before knocking down. Works effectively, less expensive than competing products."

Killed 'em dead

Date:August 26, 2009
"This stuff is great!!! I had a wasp nest under my drive way that wouldn't go away. Although it says to spray directly on the nest I couldn't because of it's concealed location. Instead I sprayed into the entry/exit hole using about half the can in 2 applications per day over a 3 day period. The first spray seemed to do it, the additional ones were just to be sure. The can states that the poison also works as a residual treatment so I assumed that when the wasps entered they would carry it back to the nest or kill them as they come and go. Either way it means no more wasps! I also tried it on individual wasps, it knocks them to the ground and they actually shrivel up a bit. Wicked stuff!!"
