Quality Product
Date:October 8, 2011
"A nice set. I am a heavy duty mechanic and these sockets have been through a lot and no major signs of wear yet! My only complaint is that the markings are laser etched and not engraved so when they get oily and dirty you can't read the size. A lifetime warranty never hurts either."

Wonderful!
Date:September 24, 2008
"This is what I was looking for! A set with many different sizes.
Yes the laser etching may and will probably fade off but that doesn't bother me. After a while, you get to know your tools! Worst case, write the size on the interior of the lid!
With a lifetime warranty, you cannot go wrong. They are well made and should last for a very long time!"

From an apprentice's point of view
Date:September 9, 2008
"I bought this set of impact sockets when my parents gave me a $50 gift for my birthday. I was working at fountain tire back then and I needed my own set of impact sockets mostly used for taking off wheels. I found them on sale at 50% off so I only had to pay for the taxes. The sockets have laser-etched markings that tells you what size they are. When I first opened the case, some of the markings were sharp and clear, a few were dull and already somewhat faded. They were also lightly coated with oil. So, I thought the markings will brighten up after its broken in. But it didn't. It just got duller and more faded until it came to a point where you can barely recognize it. So, I got the ones with faded markings exchanged, and they exchanged it no problem. But after a couple weeks the most used sockets started to fade again, and when I tried to exchange them, they wanted the whole set back. So, I brought it back and I got a new set with the same first appearance. Some markings bright, sharp and clear, some dull and somewhat darker in shade. I guess that's just the way they are. I think the laser etching is a great concept and very innovative. Its definitely much easier to see compared to the engraved markings. If only it didn't rub off with use. Construction is very durable. None of the sockets have shown any signs of cracking. Grip on the bolts is very good with minimal slipping on rounded-off heads to no slipping at all on new or perfect condition bolts/nuts. Sizing has a wide range. From 10mm to 24mm on metric and from 7/16 to 15/16 in SAE. However, they are broken sizes without 14mm, 16mm, 18mm and deep 21mm. Although you can use 5/8 in place of 16mm and there's a deep 13/16 which is very close to 21mm. If you were to buy those individual sockets separately to complete the set then you'll end up paying another $30-50. But overall, I am quite happy with these. I've been using them for 7 months now, and the 15mm and 19mm markings are completely gone now. I know I can exchange them anyway since it comes with lifetime warranty. I just haven't had the time. Bottom line, if you are looking to buy a good starter set of impact sockets and you don't mind taking the hassle of exchanging them from time to time, then I would recommend this but only if you can find them on sale. And I've seen them on sale quite often. also, when you first purchase one, you need to flip over the top foam insert where it has a diagram of the sizes coz i think they package it the other way to prevent the oil from staining it. I only found out about this after i got my second set. So, there you go! Goodluck, have fun and don't forget to torque the wheel lug nuts to spec!"

Good value!
Date:June 3, 2008
"I was impressed by the value of this socket set. My only reservation was that I could not get it entierly metric or SAE, but only a mix of the two. I did however like the fact it is a socket set, nothing else. If I want screwdriver bits, I'll buy screwdriver bits, don't put them in a socket set to increase the component count."

Sturdy, Handy and Well Made.
Date:March 29, 2008
"I got this set on sale, but seems to be worth buying at its regular price. I like the handy carrying/storage case, which not only helps keep the sockets organized and easy to find, but also clean.
This is probably Canadian Tire's best buy in impact sockets."

Sturdy and dependable
Date:October 19, 2007
"I bought these sockets quite awhile ago for my impact gun and they have passed with flying colours.
It's a decent set that includes some deep sockets (which come in quite handy) as well as standard sockets.
They feel solid and I have never been concerned about breaking one (I have broken other sockets in the past).
The only qualm I have with them is that the sizes are starting to be scratched off after extensive use. They are still quite legible though."
