GUTLESS!!!

Date:January 13, 2013
"The kit comes with a good selection of accessories but the main tools are gutless... They're ok for the odd job for a "do it yourselfer" but definately not more than that. Pro's who work with air tools will agree. Wait for sale."

Good buy at sale price.

Date:December 11, 2012
"Purchased this kit mainly for the impact gun to remove lug nuts. On the first nut the gun couldn't crack the nut lose, I noticed oil leaking from the rear cap. ALL the cap screws were LOSE (reconditioned gun?) After tightening and re-oiling, the gun worked like a charm. The die grinder is good, used it a few times. The ratchet has more bark than bite. Not used the hammer/chisel yet.
If you are planning to buy this kit, I recommend buying higher quality air tool oil and checking the four cap screws on impact gun before operating."

a tool is only as good as it's user

Date:August 19, 2012
"I find air tools require 3 things, lubricating, air pressures and proper compressor sizes but
most of all knowledge of proper uses and limitations. don't say a tool is bad just because you can't operate it. I am more than satisfied with
these tools and I Have 20 years parts experience

Best starter kit...

Date:July 22, 2012
"I am restoring a 1937 Pontiac, and very new to cars and restoration. I picked up this kit using my saved CDN tire money so it was free for me. The main tools are great and powerful, does exactly what I need as a beginner, the case is horrible, I don't bother with it. I store all my tools in a tool chest. Don't use the oil, buy other stuff. Overall, great kit for the money."

great kit

Date:April 29, 2012
"This kit is perfect for anybody who works on their own projects, with the exception of tractor trailer or heavy diesel mechanics. These tools are not meant for heavy duty application, but when they are used for intended purposes, the perform flawlessly everytime."

You get what you pay for...

Date:December 28, 2011
"As the saying goes you get what you pay for and when you pay 90$ on a box of air tools don't expect anything close to Chicago Pneumatic or IR type quality and performance. Lets start with the impact gun that doesn't pack the punch of what it says in the manual under specs. I bought this kit mainly for the impact gun for when I'm changing tires on my cars but the gun most of the time can't take them off. It really lacks the power of the more expensive models out there. For doing various repair work around the car...rusting bolts on the rotors and calipers, or removing rusty bolts on the exhaust system it does a great job on the small tasks that could be a pain with hand tools. The air ratchet is pretty good, though again it could use a bit more power as on tough bolts you can easily stop it in its tracks, and out of all the tools in the kit its the one I use the least. The die grinder is o.k. I have used it a few times for removing rust and paint off of small jobs around my garage, the only complaint is the same with the ratchet. If you apply a lot pressure on the object you are working on it can easily stop the tool from spinning. The air chisel is surprisingly excellent. When I first bought the kit I thought it would be the least used of all the tools but I have manged to find many uses for it when working on my car from attacking rusted bolts or knocking seized nuts out of place with ease. Its pretty small but packs a big punch. Overall if you're looking for some air tools to do light duty work around the garage and home then take a look at this kit. If you're like me and need more power and versatility then go out and spend a little more. This kit is only worth it when its on sale for under 100$."

Not worth regular price

Date:December 27, 2011
"This kit is regular 315.99 and i bought it at 89.99 and for 89.99 it's not bad. All the tools are cheap but will probably work fine for light duty and are a good place to start. if you use one of the tools enough to wear it out then you know to buy a better one. All the tools were covered in a film of oil, I'm not sure if that was on purpose or not. I guess it keeps things from corroding. All the air couplers on the tools were loose in my kit and they had the teflon tape on backwards. Be prepared to spend 30 minutes cleaning and setting everything up when you first buy this set."

was an aniversary gift so could not return

Date:October 16, 2011
"impact wrench weighs more than it's torque rating. impact sockets do not include any lug nut sizes.Impact drive adapter is 3/8 f to 1/2 m which is useless as what is required for this kit is a 1/2 f to 3/8 m.The tire inflater had no trigger spoon. so I addapted one from a old kiddy fire extinguisher that was destined for the garbage dump. Kit comes with 30 screw driver bits. but no screw driver. Oil bottle explodes when being removed from kit. at least nothing will rust . I could go on but my wife is curious."

Cheap price, you get what you pay for....

Date:July 31, 2011
"Well, this kit is cheap. You cannot expect quality tools at this price point.... I think it's ok for the price, I guess. I still think it's a bit bad for a few reasons
Impact : noisy, weak and big.
Ratchet: SO noisy I wont use it. I dont understand how a tool can make that much noise, really. wear ear protection. also, rubber grip aint even glued to the tool..... looks cheap.
Grinder : looks ok
air hammer : looks ok
Quick connect leaks air badly.....
thinking about it, I wonder why I got this kit. I guess it's nice for the tire inflator, small blower, grinder, ...
Get yourself another impact and air ratchet, and quick connect.... like quality ingersol rand stuff."

Got it on sale

Date:July 17, 2011
"Very nice kit I'm happy to have. Owned for 1 year.
Bottom line the tools do their job.
My fav is the grinder.. Have used that to round off steel corners, even use it to round off my dogs nails.. Lot's of uses. Does not come with any cutting wheels!
Air hammer works great. Have torn through concrete with it and also stretched out some tough stubborn hoses.
Filled up balls and toys for the kids with other attachments in the kit.
I have not used the included cheap plastic oil in this kit - very flimsy and will spill over everything. Buy separate Air Tool Oil."

ok starter set

Date:July 6, 2011
"Bought this as a starter set as I needed an impact gun, air chuck, die grinder and air ratchet. Impact gun is heavy and not very powerful, couldn't remove very many lug nuts. Air ratchet is powerful, but very very loud. Die grinder is excellent, only thing that would make it better is if it were an angled one. Air chuck is cheap, broke off after a couple uses but got it exchanged with no hassel. Can't comment on the air chisel as I have not used it yet. Good starter set on sale for 1/3 of price!"

Wow, these are some cheap tools.

Date:September 21, 2010
"Bought this on sale... big discount, I couldn't resist.
I actually bought two of them as I figured it'd make a great gift for my dad. I threw them in my garage and only opened it yesterday, about a week after purchasing. I was not impressed....
Impact gun: Holy smokes. This thing weighs a ton, had grease seeping out of the direction/power switch as well as near the 1/2" drive bearing at the front. Switching from forward to reverse and the various power levels required significant effort, as I guess most grease ended up on the outside of the gun...
Impact ratchet: Again, heavy, greasy out of the box, and poorly constructed. The rubberized handle was creased and torn just from being placed into the blow-moulded case.
Sockets: look like junk compared to the regular mastercraft impact sets. You get like 2 metric and 2 SAE 3/8 sockets. Woo.
Grinder: this tool actually looks like it might be nice enough to own.
Grinder accessories: the sanding accessories (the round ones that go over the rubber attachment) were mostly damaged within the box by the air chisels that are packed essentially on top of them. All of the grinder accessories looked too cheap for even single-time use.
Air Hammer: The tool looked okay... the chisels looked cheap, but I imagine they'd get the job done just fine.
Air inflator: basic tool but I'm sure it'd work just fine. Quality of other tools makes me question whether the gauge would be at all accurate, though.
Summary? 2/3 off sale price is not enough. The impact gun especially is probably the cheapest looking and feeling Mastercraft tool I've ever held. I'm returning both kits."

Very Good Product

Date:January 2, 2009
"Recieved this as a birthday gift a few months ago and only recently purchased air compressor suitable for these tools. The compressor generates 5.5 CFM at 90 P.S.I. and powers the tools beautifully!
The impact wrench blasts off the lugs on my car with little effort (when toruqued to 100 ft. lbs.)
Impact ratchet delivers too. I'll add a 1/2 drive with more torque to my collection soon though.
The pistol syle tire pressure guage is great too.
Haven't used the other accessories yet but based on the performance of the ones I've used...they should be great too."
