Great quality axe

Date:May 15, 2013
"I have owned this axe for almost five years. It has kept its edge and has shown little wear. Very comfortable to use and light weight. The only issue I would say i've had would be the plastic case for the axe head. The strap will not stay closed, but I bought it for the axe not the case."

Wrong Photo/Description...Real items are BETTER

Date:November 3, 2012
"I avoided going to Canadian Tire originally because I was looking specifically for the new X-Series model (X15) which should have been this axe. However, the photo and name on this website display the old model so I tried looking elsewhere. I eventually went to see what Canadian Tire carried. I was pleasantly surprised to find that all of the Fiskars axes were the X-series and that this model particularly was in fact the X15 (not the old one displayed/described here).
The same goes for the Fiskars Garden Axe on the website which turned out to be the improved model: Fiskars X7 (<- this hatchet in particular has received many raved reviews amongst experienced users who have compared it to the performance of the Gransfors Bruks Wildlife Hatchet (retail $111)
I sincerely believe this line is the best modern-style of axe (opposed to wooden handled type) and amongst the best overall.
Highly recommended that Canadian Tire is one of few who carry the entire Fiskars X-Series!"

Nice axe, but edge of blade chipped...

Date:June 21, 2011
"I'll admit the axe is really nice, and fairly light. We took it with us on a 7 km hike, and didn't feel it weighed us down. It cut some pretty thick wood easily, but my only grievance is that the edge of the head chipped in a couple of areas. It still chops, but disappointing to see.
It would have also been nice if it came with a leather cover rather than the bulky plastic cover. But that's just my opinion."

Best axe ever.

Date:December 6, 2010
"This thing slices through wood like a hot knife through butter.
One hand, little sing makes easy work for kindling wood off a big log. Found the biggest log I had and slit it in two then four then eight them 32 and so on. Never made so much kindling so fast. couldn't stop myself. What a joy. Wood flying all over the place. You get the point.
Super light So incredibly easy to use. Buy this axe. Never thought I would like an axe so much.
As for the price. I would buy it again for twice the price.
Oh ya this thing is so sharp you could carve your Christmas turkey with it. I asked she said no."

Excellent Axe

Date:December 30, 2009
"Purchased this axe to clear a 3/4 acre lot of small to medium trees.
Pros:
- Sharp
- STAYS sharp
- Head is far heavier then the handle making for efficient/deeper cuts
Cons:
- Very light handle takes getting used to
- Head cover doesn't cover the whole head and falls off if not seated perfectly
Overall the best axe I've ever owned and I would highly recommend buying it if you need a new axe whether it's on sale or not."

Great Value

Date:September 17, 2008
"I bought this axe as a replacement for an older one I seriously dulled chopping roots (and the odd rock). It is virtually indestructable with excellent craftsmanship. I probably can't hurt this one."

Beauty

Date:June 5, 2008
"i've got basically the entire Fiskars lineup because they have been so great for me. This axe in particular is awesome for splitting smaller logs for the fire or limbing fallen trees. Great handle, even better head, and perfect weight. NO complaints, at all."
