"The Jobmate rechargeable batteries are not top end products but they don't cost as much as top end products either. I have 3 tools which use these 14.4 volt batteries and keep one on the charger all the time. The trick with these batteries is to run them all the way down before recharging and using them regularly, so it's always a good idea to have a spare. Also, I use my Jobmate tools a couple of times a week and my batteries have lasted about 3 years so far. Any cordless tool will discharge if not used for long periods of time. For those who would use a cordless tool once in a blue moon I'd say buy a corded tool. For those who use a cordless tool to earn a living I'd say buy a higher quality tool. For some like me they are a good combination of price and value."

Poor battery performance
Date:October 6, 2007
"The 14.4v batteries soon failed to maintain a charge. Having bought a drill with one battery and a tool kit (drill, sander, jigsaw) with two batteries, it is very dissapointing to be faced with a choice of spending $30 for each of the three batteries or throwing away all four of these satisfactory tools. I can't justify the cost if I get such short service from the batteries.Any suggestions would be appreciated. P.S. We have to travel 80 km. to the nearest store, so it's not just a case of around the corner."
