Date:May 5, 2014
"this fixture is advertised as a T12. But when you open the box, the fixture has a label on it saying T8 23 watts max."

Great Cold Weather Light

Date:August 9, 2013
"Bought these last year and placed them in the garage. In extreme cold (-20-25C), it takes a minute for the ballast to warm up to 100% but they start off at about 80% immediately. Great purchase."

48-in. Fluorescent Shop Light, T12 ****

Date:January 12, 2012
"Although this fixture is listed as T12 on the website, it is actually rated a T8, as indicated on the box and unit itself. Nice little unit. Went together in a snap...even included the chain and cup hooks to hang it up."

Buyer Beware - Good Product - Poor Description!

Date:March 8, 2011
"As stated in various posts, although this is a great product at a great price (especially on sale), the description is extremely misleading. After contacting the manufacturer, it has been made clear that although this item can power the T12 bulbs, it was created for T8. You will wear through your T12 bulbs in weeks instead of years as they are intended.
With this side note in mind, it's a great product for the price!"

This is NOT recomended for T12 use.

Date:March 6, 2011
"Although the electronic ballast will drive an older technology T12 tube the manufacturer specifies the use of a T8 bulb only.
T8 florescent tubes more efficient in that they use less energy while providing the same or greater light output plus they maintain a better quality of light for a longer period than the older technology T12 tubes.
Build quality is acceptable for this product considering it's an economy item.
Canadian Tire you need to modify the product description as the manufacturer states to use 2 x 32 watt Max T8 tubes."

No frills light

Date:January 2, 2011
"This light was purchased for our basement storage room. The light comes unassembled. You need to attach the sockets and the metal ends of the fixture. This was a little annoying as the pieces don’t fit together easily. The light fixture has a standard plug on the end of the cord, and no pull chain on the fixture itself to turn it on and off. I ended up installing a receptacle in the octagon box on the ceiling. This allows the light switch to still turn the light on and off.
Now that it is installed, the light it produces is great. It just wasn’t a 10 minute job and I needed an extra pair of hands for the assembly."

Watch Out - Store Stock May Be Different!

Date:April 14, 2010
"I just purchased this shop light but after getting it home I found that although the product # (52-3206-0) is the same, the product is not as specified on the website.
The product I purchased is only rated as T8 - which means it can handle a maximum of 32W tubes and not the 34W/40W T12 versions indicated on the website. In fact there is a sticker on the light explicitly stating that 32W is the maximum the product is rated for."

Good craft light

Date:January 8, 2010
"If you put some sunlight bulbs into this fixture, its a very useful and versatile light for a good price. Hang it over a craft table and work away"

Quick to setup and use

Date:November 7, 2008
"Very easy to setup and use. Will work with several Light tubes, so we were able to use old left over stock in our basement.
Starts quickly also, and provides lots of light
Great Deal while on Sale !!
