DON'T RECOMMEND

"You need arms like weightlifter to stir it and it never becomes evenly conistant. Leaves rough grout sticking up from driveway from non-stirred thick part. Because it's so thick at the bottm of the pail stirring it causes splashes. Be careful. Apparently it's sand at the bottom....supposed to create non-skidding surface. I used the cheaper on for years and it worked just as well."

Good coverage

"Driveway is 3 years old (still smooth) and this was first time sealing it. Used up one and a half cans with roller for first coat, covering 800 sq ft. Not enough left for second coat, so to use up remaining product went back and touched up spots where I missed. Good product when mixed well. Keep stirring as you go, and when possible pour back and forth between two containers to get heavier solids mixed well for consistency."

Good Sealer

"I always use this sealer on my driveway. For some reason, my first pail looked blue and the other looked black when it was done. I can remember in the past having the whole driveway looking black when it was done. I just stirred it with a stick. I used to use a paint mixer on the drill but it's really easy to spill over the edges of the pail and get sealer on yourself. I have been using a squeegee but the past 2 times I've done it I've been getting a lot of streaks. The good thing is that the squeegee lets the sealer fill in the bigger gaps that a roller wouldn't get into."

"Ask the paint counter guys to throw pails on mixer. Huge diff to consistency. You can still blend pails if you want but I never have. I use every three years and works very well. I just use the leaf blower on high to clean off driveway and roller works well with any dust just getting rolled into black liquid. Main thing is get all large debris off or it sticks to roller and makes a poor finish. Also, if you want it to have a good finish don't cheap out and roll it on as thin as you can. Buy an extra bucket or two and roll a little thicker and the results will show much better in subsequent years. Have fun Rollin!"

Don't know what happened

"Used this product last fall and follow the instruction to the letter
Applied it using a squeegee (wish I would have used a roller) and it looked good, satisfied with the result so far
However this winter with the snow removal it all came off with the ice and now it's all peeling off my driveway
It looks horrible and is everywhere because it gets stuck to your boots
Now I have to sweep and pressure wash it off completely and start over
I might have done something wrong but I can't figure it out"

Great Product

"Put this on my driveway that has not been sealed in several years. Product went on very smoothly with roller. As others have stated mix the product good as stated on the directions and it wiil work fine. Best advice was split the pail in half mix both and then combine and mix again. Had many people comment that it looked like a newly paved driveway when it was all finished. Would recomend this product to anyone."

Decent for the price

"I purchased this driveway sealer and sealed my driveway this past weekend. I would recommend you wear gloves while doing this because it is difficult to get this stuff off your hands and under your finger nails. Also, make sure you stir the contents a lot. I did my best to mix it up and realized halfway down my driveway that the further down i got in the bucket the thicker the sealer and the more it covered. I had to go back because I wasn't happy with the way it spread at the beginning (probably because it was not mixed as well). Also wear shoes/clothes you dont want because there is a lot of splatter with the roller. Don't cheapen out on the roller, it'll help apply the sealer.
I would try a different brand next time but i am satisfied with the result."

"I just did my driveway today. My driveway is 4 years old & was last done 3 years ago. It is just under 1100 sq ft & took just less than 2 pails. It took a little over 3 hours to do it. Product was easy to stir by hand, no problems getting a good mix. Able to walk on it within 2 hours. Time will tell how long it lasts."

"My wife and I spent the better part of a day rolling this stuff on our driveway at first it lloked great, but after one winter and less than a year later it’s hard to tell we even put it on. The only way you can tell is the high traffic areas are totally worn through. The rest is faded almost grey in color. Even areas that have no traffic have spots worn through. It's not from lack of prepping the surface, first we swept the large debris then high pressure washed. I’ve added some pics, have a look. Avoid this product!"

"I tried this product earlier this summer and it was one of the worst projects I've undertaken. Not only did it take me A LONG time to stir but when I finished there were streaks across the drive and 2 different shades. No help from their customer service. I'm trying a differnt brand no doubt."

Looks good at first

"Driveway hasn't been sealed in at least 10 years.
Put down 3 buckets on my 2 car x 2 car driveway and it looked great.
Put down 3 buckets on my 2 car x 2 car driveway and it looked great.
Only problem is after the first winter it looked as if it was sealed 3 year ago.
At $20 a bucket it's cheaper than paying someone to do it, but I did expect at least 2 years out of it.
Might try another brand next time."

Take's way too much and look's painted

"I bought a few pails of this and started using it on my driveway. It does not cover as much as it says. I also found it looks like it's painted on the driveway not like it's fresh ashphalt. I ended up re-doing the driveway with BLACK GOLD Acrylic Driveway sealer, which I bought from Home hardware and only needed 3 pails at $30... compared to 9 pails of this sealer @ $19. The Black Gold looks so much better, it's looks like fresh ashphalt. Don't waste your money. Do it right the first time."

Works Well...

"This product worked well. My driveway required nearly 9 pails. I found that each pail was good for about 200sq.ft. (on average). Having underestimated how much I required, I ended up purchasing 3 pails at a time from 3 different locations. I found that there was some slight color variation from pail to pail, as well as some consistency variation. It took me about 1hr to spread each pail, taking my time. Here are my recommendations based on my experience.
[1] Purchase a throw-away painters suit. This stuff can be messy and is hard to get off your skin. Wear gloves too.
[2] Purchase more than you think you'll need, you can return an unopened pail. This'll save you running out for more.
[3] Purchase all the pails at the same place, from the same pallet. This'll increase the odds that the sealer is all from the same batch and of the same vintage. That'll help with color and consistency variation.
[4] Buy an additional large empty pail for a few dollars.
[5] Open the first two pails and mix them well with a paint mixer attached to a drill. Pour 1/3rd of each pail into the empty pail. Mix them all up again with the drill. It's hard to mix a full pail without spilling some, so mix as well as you can, then pour some off into the empty pail and mix some more. Mixing various pails with themselves with help with color and consistency.
[6] A full pail is heavy and hard to pour. So mixing into a 3rd empty pail helps with this too. Take one of the 3 pails and pour a little onto the drive. Slowly spread around with a roller.
[7] Any additional pails should be opened, mixed, and then mixed with some of the initial pails, always mixing one pail with another. Keep mixing back and forth. It only take a minute with the drill.
[8] Keep pouring and rolling.
[9] Do it on a cooler day, or early in the morning.

Worked Great.

"Very happy with how my driveway turned out. I would use a brush close to buildings/walkways, and roll on the rest. Buy a roller with a wooden handle as the metal/plastic ones break. I applied in two directions and it looks fantastic. I will use this product again. It took a little while to stir the pail, but I've heard people recommend a drywall compound mixer that attaches to a drill. I only had 3 pails, so it wasn't that big of a deal though."

Driveway Sealed - DONE!

"Just sealed our Driveway using 15 pails of the Airport sealer. Job done in 4-5 hours not counting prep time (preped with pressure washer). 2 guys - used squeegies to apply.
Mixed well after pails were set upside down 24 hours prior to job. Mixed with drill and paint mixer.
Some slight color variation but not really noticible.
