"I wouldn't consider replacing a screen without the spine tool. That being said it is so inexpensive to replace a screen rather than to get a window place to do it I don't know why anyone wouldn't DIY it."

"You can try putting a screen back in with a flat head screwdriver, but it will take a long time. This tool makes things much faster."

"this tool makes redoing the screens a snap best 5 bucks you will spend!the wheels get the rubber gasket in nice and snug and no ripping the gasket because the tool is rounded to fit the rubber and its got two size wheels so you are good to go with this tool."

Good tool for diy screen door repair

"The one and only time I replaced a screen I used this tool. It is such a specific tool, too bad I couldn't think of other uses for it. It worked well when changing screens."
