Good vac for pick ups and light cleaning

"I'm impressed: after more than one year of use it still works well and handle didn't fall away.
It will not clean carpet as deep as a largest powerful vacuums will, but is quite good for quick pick ups of pet hair and small debris from hardwood floor and carpet.
Lightweight, takes a little space, convenient. Washable filters: cup and pre-motor flat sponge.
The problem with absence of replacement filters could be solved by using recommended in QA filers for another vacuum, and flat sponge could be cut to size from sponge filter for another small vacuum.
Recommended."

Disintegrates with light use

"I have owned this vacuum for about 4 months, and I use it roughly once per day for less than 5 minutes to vacuum up crumbs and stray cat food kibble from my kitchen floor.
The first problem was finding replacement filters that didn't have small holes in them. I wanted to have some spares on hand, so I bought a multi-pack. However, nearly every box of filters had one or two that had little holes in the fabric, which would have allowed dirt and debris into the motor. A lot of the filters were also marked and scuffed up. Packaging of the filters was terrible.
The vacuum itself has developed a problem where the latch that separates the handle from the hand-vac part comes loose on it's own, causing the vacuum segment to fall off when you pick it up. I solved that (seemingly) with some tape. When it falls off the handle, the dirt compartment and filter come apart creating a mess on the floor.
The next problem was that the floor attachment nozzle also started falling out of the vacuum everytime the unit was picked up. Closer examination revealed some small cracks in the plastic at the mouth of the vacuum where the floor nozzle attaches.
The other problem, which was present from the very start, was a very strong and unpleasant plastic smell that would fill the kitchen every time the vacuum was used, which did not fade with use.
It's been more than 90 days, but I'm taking it (and the spare one I also bought) back to Canadian Tire and demanding a full refund for this rubbish.
Every single Shark product I have ever owned has been a piece of junk in ways too numerous to count, but I decided to give this stick-vac a try due to the mostly positive reviews. I will never buy a Shark product again.
Oh, and in case anyone is wondering, Shark has some of the worst customer service in the industry too."

Great little vacumm

"Lightweight & easy to use. Hangs up easly in any closet and takes up no more room than a broom. The 2 in 1 feature is great. This little vacumn has great suction and is super for quick clean ups especially the kitchen area. No more broom and no more lugging around the household vacumn for small jobs."

"I have had this Stick vacuum for - I believe - just over a year. I have pets and their dander is a constant struggle - especially on the hardwood floors. This product is great to quickly pull out and get the job done.
It doesn't scratch the floor and has a powerful suction for its size and price."

Great suction!

"I just moved into an apartment with no carpet and couln't imagine having to pull out my huge Bissell all the time. I have two long-haried cats and a dog so I vacuum daily. People hoping to use this on carpet or heavy-duty messes I would say spend the money and get something designed for that. You get what you pay for and this little vac is great for light messes and quick jobs!"

"I have a small bachelor apartment and this vacuum is perfect for that small space. It's really lightweight and doesn't take up too much space in the closet. I rarely emply the cartridge and it still has good suction. Works well on tile, hardwood and thin area rugs."

"Great vacuum when you have an upstairs and a downstairs to clean!!! It saves from dragging the big vacuum up and down the stairs. The power is not as strong as a big vacuum though, so with carpets, not the best... but for convenience, the best!!"

"this thing may not be super high powered, but it works great for our 8 1.2 apartment. picks up everything we need it to, works on carpet and hardwood floor. just be sure to get new filters- it makes a difference in performance."

"This is a must-buy product. Stores in my pantry and is so light weight that it is not a problem getting it out to vaccum my kitchen floors. No more sweeping and no more lugging my hug vaccum out of my laundry room.

great for growing mold

"I have used this vacuum for about 3 months & have fought with mold growth for the past month, even after soaking the canister part of the vac. There are too many cracks & crevices that catch food, which then molds in the canister. Now, it stinks like mold whenever I turn it on. Suction works good, but the cord is too short. I should have kept my swiffer sweep'n'vac --- very disappointed in this product!"

"I purchased this vacuum last summer for $14.99 and was told immediately from a friend that I should turn around and take it back because it was "garbage". For the price, it wasn't worth my gas to return it, so we kept it and were quite impressed. The stick does pop off even when locked in place and about 7 months of use and the vacuum has finally broke, but we were using it at least once a day to pick up pet hair from laminate and it served its purpose for the price."

Cheap but useful

"This product seems like a cheaply made but functional children's toy. I feel like I'm going to break it if I'm not careful enough, and it is rather loud on non-carpeted surfaces owing to its (again) cheap plastic wheels. It's cleaning path is also rather narrow. Another negative is that it's virtually useless on pet beds and thick carpet. Nevertheless, it works well picking up pet hair and dirt on hardwood and throws, and has a surprisingly powerful suction. Better than sweeping and useful for the price!"

GREAT PURCHASE, GREAT VALUE!!

"I got this on sale and didn't expect much for the price. I am very pleased as it works well on hardwood floors and tile. I sometime even run it over my couch and it works on that too! It has great suction for such a light, little thing! It's easy to manoeuvre, and easy to store away while taking up little space in the storage closet.
Unfortunately, I didn't pay attention to what someone else wrote in their review regarding the handle coming off. I removed my handle a few times to use it as a smaller hand vac and I now regret it since the latch no longer stays firmly clicked in place and so the handle often comes off while I'm vacuuming. If you can avoid the temptation to remove the handle and use it as only a stick vac (or as a very long hand vac with it's handle in place), I think it would prolong it's life since the clicking latch seems somewhat cheaply made. Also, the sound of the wheels on hard floors can be annoying at times, but otherwise, it is a great product at a great price. Very handy!!"

"Bought this little vacuum for our RV and works great on carpet and flooring. Handle removes for easy storing and love that it can turn into a hand vac too. Only problem I have is that the handle sometimes comes apart even though it is locked in place. Great price for what I need it for."
