Best Blender Ever!!

Date:April 23, 2013
"This is the best smoothie blender ever. I have had it for over a year, using it almost every single day to crush ice, frozen bananas, fruit, etc and it is still going strong. Everything is always smoothly and finely blended and just plain awesome. Get this one!"

It depends on what you're using it for!

Date:March 9, 2013
"I purchased this blender after trying to make a green smoothie (with kale) in the blender I already owned. It came out lumpy and had been giving me troubles, so I decided to pick this blender up. It was worse than the blender I already owned! This blender is not good for anyone who is trying to blend green smoothies. It comes out gritty like there is broccoli pieces in it. It did however, blend the ice and fruit down well. Just won't do what I need it to so I had to return it!"

Works Great

Date:February 19, 2013
"I like this blender, it is very safe to use and has 2 safety features that dont allow you to get near the blades unless the top is attached. Blades are sharp and chop everything i've thrown at it so far. Beets, Carrots even . The only thing that i can think of is maybe they should have made it with 3 speeds. It has full on, or pulse only. Overall, very happy so far and makes great smoothies. Gave it 4 stars but would actually give 4.5 stars if I could."

Best Blender Ever

Date:February 1, 2013
"I cant believe it took this long for someone to come up with a design with multiple blades. This blends everything. Incredible for smoothies etc. You can use a straw afterwards. My son makes snow cones with it. This is the best blender ever made!"

Finally a blender that works

Date:December 8, 2012
"We had gone through and endless stream of cheapie blenders and despite their 27 different speeds (what really is the difference between blend and whip?) they never failed to disappoint. Got the Ninja a year ago and never looked back. We mostly make things like hummus in it so I can't speak to the smoothness of smoothies, but for tough blending jobs it does great. No endless poking the mixture down into the blades. Be careful, though...those blades are SHARP and despite best efforts we have cut ourselves a couple of times when washing. Best to use a brush and not touch them at all."

Best Blender ever

Date:November 14, 2012
"This is by far the very best blender we have ever had.
To chop up onions it works great and no tears.
We save bread crusts and dry them out then put them in the Ninja and in seconds we have bread crumbs Great.

Waste of money

Date:October 12, 2012
"Was a great blender for about a month of making smoothies, then the connector from the motor to the blades (which is plastic and weak) broke so the motor works fine but the blades wont spin. Complete waste of money, thought a Ninja was a step away from plastic junk components. i was wrong"

Blender Above the Rest!

Date:August 14, 2012
"I bought my NINJA Professional Blender over a year ago now and I have used it at least once a day since and this is BY FAR the BEST blender I have ever owned. Frozen fruit, ice, big chunks and even whole fruit has no chance against these NINJA blades. Very easy to clean and all around a GREAT product I will be using and recommending to family and friends."

On the fence

Date:July 10, 2012
"I bought this blender to make my smoothies. I use mostly frozen fruit, kale and minimal liquid. I've tried it twice and so far I can't get a smooth texture. The kale will not break down and I constantly suck up bits of it through the straw. My old blender was able to blend the kale nicely but I was sick of adding ingredients bit by bit and sticking wooden spoons in it to get the top portion mixing with the bottom (wrecked a lot of spoons). With the ninja you can add everything at once and it blends evenly but the kale situation ruins it for me. I really wanted this blender to work for me. I'll try it out one more time but it's most likely going back to the store."

From a chore to a joy!!

Date:July 5, 2012
"I bought this blender today at the recommendation of a friend. I spent 10-15 minutes this morning trying to get my smoothie blended with my old blender, and I decided I was not going to do that again!! I tried it out tonight and I was amazed at how smooth my smoothie was. I didn't even work up a sweat like I did this morning!! I just stood back and let it do it's magic without having to stir, and stir, and stir again!! Best $100 I have spent in a while!!"

Excellent Blender

Date:June 25, 2012
"After reading a few of the reviews here, I was a little wary of buying this blender, but I have to admit it works amazingly well. It is a little noisy, but then again all blenders are noisy. I use if primarily for smoothies, and the six blades chew through the ice and it makes wonderfully smooth drinks. It also does an excellent job making strawberry daiquiris
It is well worth price and it does clean up easily."

Powerful motor, yes but...

Date:April 16, 2012
"I purchased this blender for green smoothies. I though I couldn't go wrong with the three blades and a powerful motor. Unfortunately, the smoothie was very grainy even after blending for 3 minutes. I had to put the contents in my $40 blender... that is to say more than half the price of the Ninja, blended my fresh greens in half the time with half the power in an absolutely smooth smoothie. I deducted that for green or fruit smoothie blenders with one smaller blade at the bottom can actually refine the food to excellent smooth consistency. I was fortunate to be able to compare. The item was return the next day."

Awesome

Date:February 13, 2012
"This is the best blender I've ever owned. I use it to make smoothies and homemade soups. The pitcher is large enough I can blend an entire pot of soup at once!
It can whip through smoothie ingredients quickly, with the multi-level blades there's no worry about something getting missed.

powerful

Date:January 31, 2012
"This is a very powerful blender, however... it's noisy and doesn't grind ice smooth...texture is like the slushies you get at the convienience store not what I would call a smoothie. Also only one speed is a drawback. Had it for a month and gave it away. Waste of $99"

Great blender

Date:June 5, 2011
"I have had this blender for a month now and have used it literally every day to make crushed ice and smoothies. It does a great job. As for the crushed ice, note that it does break down ice cubes into granular/gravelly micro-chunks of ice. I was hoping to be able to make smooth velvety slush drinks, but I probably need an ice shaver to do that. This is my only minor disappointment.
The product photo, while it is completely accurate, might lead you to believe the jug is glass and the base is metal. Not true, both are plastic. However, my impression of the jug is that it is very sturdy and will last a long time. After a month of daily use (crushing ice and frozen fruit), it shows no signs of damage or even any scratches. The base is fairly well built and lightweight because it is plastic. I wouldn't want to drop either on the floor though.
The motor seems very powerful. I can load up the jug with ice cubes, and as soon as I press a button the blades spin without any hesitation or difficulty. Also, there seems to be some circuitry or gearing to gradually (over 2 seconds) get the motor to maximum speed when you press 3 (maximum speed) from a standstill. I take that as a good sign of careful design that will help lengthen the life of the motor. Also I have noticed hot air blowing out of the bottom of the base, which is evidence of a cooling fan, to prevent overheating and lengthen motor life.
The blades do seem very sharp, and I have to be really careful when hand washing. I hope they stay sharp a long time!
Overall I have to say it is a great blender for my purposes. I waited until it was on sale before purchasing, because I was reluctant to pay $99.99 for a mostly plastic machine. But, now after owning it for a month, I would say even at regular price it would be worth the money for me. I'll be making icy cold drinks and smoothies all summer long!"

Great ice blender

Date:May 14, 2011
"I bought this blender specifically to make smoothies and Pina Colada's.
Our previous blenders always did a terrible job of crushing ice. I always had to remove the lid and manually stir the ice so that the blades could start crushing again.
Wow. This blender works really well. I put in the ice cubes, frozen fruit pieces, and a little milk, and everything came out smooth without any chunks or manual intervention.
I have only used it for one day so I can't comment on how long it will last."

So far, so Great

Date:April 2, 2011
"Although we just purchased this today, we have determined this blender to be quite superior, at least compared to our old blender.
With the 6 blades in the center, there are no air pockets created. The first thing we did was crush ice, and it practically turned to snow. It's quieter, there are safety features such as blinking power button and no turn on if the components are assembled wrong for operation. The three speeds are actually 3 different speeds. The huge pitcher holds - get this - 2.15L/9cups/72oz!
It's different from most blenders in that the blade tower is attached from the bottom, right into the lid. The lid locks on. So for smoothies (the next thing we made), it pours out the dispensing lid so you don't have to take the lid off and remove the blades before serving. We've never had a blender you don't have to hold - you can just let it run and walk away. The plastic pitcher locks into place on the base and when removed is very stable on the counter. The blades have to be removed for cleaning, (the tower can stand upright alone) but a couple of rinses with water was a great way to get it virtually clean (we wash everything by hand), so there is no fear of cutting yourself cleaning blindly.
We looked online, and you can buy parts online, which is a bonus. All from Quebec it seems. There's a one year warranty.
Happy we got this so far, time will tell re: longevity. Bonus was that it was $30 off!
