Really good product

"As a novice to car care, i bought this having never used it before and unsure of how i'd do when using it. It's so easy to use and does such a good job that I'd recommend it to you.
I first used it [last year] on our '03 Malibu that felt rough to the touch when i'd run the hand across the car body. When I was finished, it left the body as smooth as glass. I use it on my Rav4 twice a year and it does a great job every time."

too much work for nothing

"Don't get me wrong, this product does work, but for half the money i use meguairs ultimate compound also available at canadian tire. the only thing with the compound is that you cant do it as often. but on the other hand with one 15$ bottle you can do about 4-6 cars and with less elbow grease you will not only remove any contaminants but light scratches blemishes, oxidization and swirl marks. followed up by a good polish then a wax. The dangers of picking up the smallest little rock particle with the clay bar are inherent. those clay bars can potentially cause more damage to your paint. consider the 30$ kit a twice use then discard purchase."

"I never thought I could remove so much contaminants in the paint on my new 2010 GMC Sierra. I always thought that a new truck/car paint was in pristine condition and contaminants only happened after years of driving. Boy was I wrong. I clay barred my truck a couple of weeks ago and it got the paint shiny and smooth as silk (especially along the bottom of the doors where I could feel stuff in the paint). I mean there wasn't a huge amount of stuff in the paint but there was enough to soil half of the clay bar.
Now I can't wait to try it out on my wife's '07 Vibe.. I can only imagine the stuff that is in that paint work :-)"

"Meguiar's has put together a good clay bar kit here.
Easy to use, and effective. The clay is not as "sticky" and messy as other brands. So, while it is mild, I do find it does the job without being unnecessarily hard to work with.
I'll also put in my vote for the clay bar to be sold seperately however. Meg's Quik Detail spray is really good, and the kit is totally worth it, but it does bring up the price unnecessarily if you have your own quick detailers handy."

"I'm not sure how the clay bar removes the contaminants but it does. I used it to remove rail dust on my new vehicle. It takes time but the results are well worth it. I just wish you could buy the bars by themselves."

"As a detailer, when I run out of my pro clay bars, this is the kit I buy! It does a great job, as good as my pro stuff!
TIP: Cut bars in half. If you ever drop one on the ground, you have the other half left. Remember, use lots of lube (quick detailer) and fold the clay often!
This is IMO, one of the best prep to do before applying any products to your ride!

For the serious detailers

"This kit comes with 2 clay bars, a quick detailer, a microfibre cloth, and a sample bottle of cleaner wax.
Overall, the clay bar works really well, it did pick up all the contaminants on the paint service. This bar is definitely for the serious detailers out there, as claying the car doesn't make a huge difference in the final outcome of your job. Removing the contaminants simply makes the car smoother to the touch.
The product is quite easy to use, and all the directions are provided. The sample bottle of cleaner wax provided lets you polish and wax the car in one quick step. Although if you were serious enough that you'd buy this kit, you'd probably want to invest in purchasing a separate polish and wax combination."
