Broke In One Day

"Seemed good when I bought it: Very bright, used it to videotape raccoons 10 ft away. Light weight. After one day, the little plastic tab inside that holds it closed broke. I didn't bother to exchange it as that tiny tab would likely just break again. I decided to keep it, open it and remove the springs because I liked the light otherwise and it was on sale for $10. But for the regular price that tiny piece needs to be made stronger.
Some notes:
* The web page lists it as a 12V lamp. Perhaps they mean it can charge from a car; the actual battery inside is 3.6V according to the instructions.
* The outer package says it has a lead acid battery, but the instructions say it's Ni-MH.
* The package says the lens gets extremely hot, which seemed odd for an LED lamp. In fact, it barely gets warm.
* The package warns not to turn it on while charging, but in fact you can't as plugging in the charger disables the lamp.
* The labeling of the two switches is reversed on the package.
* To keep it ready, they recommend charging it every 30-50 days. Charges in 6 hours, do not charge longer than 8 hours.
* Stated running time is >12 hours for 4 LEDs, >2.5 hours for 28 LEDs."
