Keeps blowing fuses!?!

Date:December 15, 2012
"I've used this transmitter now for about a year, and have been satisfied for the most part. Volume control isn't the greatest, and reception can be fuzzy, bu it was what I expected for $20. But DO NOT CHARGE YOUR PHONE WITH THE CORD!! It destroys your phone battery, and I have blown 3 fuses in my car for some reason. I just threw it all in the garbage, and won't be buying another!"

Have one in every vehicle!

Date:August 18, 2012
"Love this ipod transmitter so much we have bought 3 for our vehicles plus another as a gift! The kids can play (and charge if needed) their ipod through the fm on the stereo. Works great even when travelling! Frequently goes on sale for $19.99, which is a steal!"

Decent product, some flaws

Date:April 3, 2012
"Pretty good for the price (bought on sale for $17.99).
Pros:
-good sound quality
-wireless (doesn't need to be plugged in all the time)
-charging option
Cons/Issues:
-strange issue where after my iPod is fully charged from a wall charger, the transmitter stops playing altogether. The solution for this is to plug the transmitter charger in for a second, then unplug
-connection to iPod is a little bit loose and therefore needs to be perfect at all times otherwise it will randomly disconnect while on the road
-another strange issue where the stations on the display all of a sudden start at 01.0 instead of the normal FM frequency. Solution: hold down the button while inserting into iPod. It should reset back to 88.1.
All in all it is a good product, but not without its flaws. I would not pay the full price for this one, but it is still cheaper than buying the brand name ones for $70+ which have the same issues."

no issues at all, decent product

Date:December 14, 2011
"We have had this transmitter for 6 months and have had no issues. It is nice to be able to use it while it is not plugged in, as well to charge your iphone while plugged in, in the car. We live in a smaller city and have no issues finding clear frequencies with clear reception from the transmitter. So tiny/compact!"

Disappointing

Date:August 29, 2011
"I tried this in the car and it worked great. I could even walk around the car with my phone and it worked great. Until the car actually moved. The sound stammers between the iPhone and the radio station it's tuned to. A few seconds of radio station, a few seconds of iPhone and it spits and flutters and is basically useless in my car. I tried different frequencies, different locations in the car... all the same result. Shame because it is a cool gadget but I can't listen to two different things stammering back and forth. It also doesn't help when in the GTA, every frequency in the FM band has a full radio broadcast on it. (meaning, there are no 'empty' FM frequencies) I do have a larger unit with a cradle I was trying to replace with this one and it's never given me this problem. It's 2 feet from the antenna. I can't glue it to my windsheild. At least Canadian Tire is awesome with returns."

Excellent Product

Date:August 27, 2011
"Bought it while on sale, setup took almost a minute.
Sound through IPOD Touch is excellent, better than my FM radio. Sound is clear and crisp with good channel separation.
Guess I can throw out the Belkin which never came close to this quality."

Connection too loose

Date:June 1, 2011
"PROS: When connected to your Iphone it is inconspicuous and fits in your pocket. You can either charge your iPhone or use the Iphone's battery with no cables attached. Transmitter is OK. Battery saver shuts off the device after 15 seconds after music stopped. I found the charger to be fast.
CONS: My main irritation is that the connection gets loose and perfect alignment between device and Iphone is required. Road bumps can easily disconnect the device. Battery saver can be annoying and cannot be deactivated; it will shut the device off when disconnected for more than 15 seconds or when you are listening to internet radio and signal is off temporarily. To reactivate the device, you must press the frequency changer button which is confusing because you can sometimes change the frequency instead of reactivating the device. User intervention is therefore too often required and interferes with safe driving."

Was great until it stopped working

Date:May 4, 2011
"The transmitter stopped working a week after I bought it - it wasn't dropped, it didn't break...it just simply stopped working. It's really cheaply made. I bought it when it was on sale but lost my receipt so couldn't return it.
I wouldn't pay $44 for this."

Pleasantly surprised

Date:March 14, 2011
"I bought this on sale for $14.98 and had very low expectations. This thing is incredible. Works great in the car and can be plugged into the 12 volt outlet so that it recharges my ipod or iphone as it plays.
Then I took it into the house and to my surprise, it plays through our home stereo as well. Just tune it to the station on the radio and voila, your favourite tunes.
I would highly recommend this unit.

Wait for a sale and grab it!!

Date:March 7, 2011
"I purchased this transmitter on sale for $19.99 and it was well worth it. I have had no problems with static and the fact that it's not "leashed" to the dash is also great.
I'm not sure why the other folks had trouble with reception but this transmitter had no problem overpowering weaker signals in my van (2004 Toyota Sienna) and I placed my iPod in cup holders approximately 5 feet from the antenna.
I also use it with an old cd boombox I'm listening to during basement renovations where it's impossible to get radio reception.

Good

Date:January 25, 2011
"Works Good. Out performed expensive ones from Futureshop. Some minor static every now and then but I have yet to find a static free FM transmitter. Tried 4 different ones since Christmas and this is the best so far. Bought on sale for 19.99. Using it on 100.3 in Calgary"

A Good Buy

Date:August 26, 2010
"I bought this with mixed feelings, but am overly happy with the purchase. I found it on sale for $19.99, so I decided to try it out. I read some reviews that said it didn't work with OS 4, so I was worried it wouldn't work. My ipod touch is version 4.0.2, and it worked beautifully. I have found nothing wrong it. Sometimes the signal will get a bit of static if theres a strong radio station nearby, but that dissipates when I plug it into the car charger. If you can find this product on sale, then get it. I wouldn't pay the normal $44.99 for it though."

Works great...under impeccable circumpstances only

Date:August 23, 2010
"To start this off, I almost couldn't be happier with my purchase. Before I bought the thing, I was a bit worried b/c some negative reviews I saw concerning the product really denied the good reviews with stuff like ''oh sound quality is horrible, it's so weak and muffled!'' and ''man, there's always static in the background and interference all the time!''
Well about the horrible sound quality, I have no idea how to explain why I got it right and they did not. On the road, we put on the whole Unknown Pleasures album from Joy Division with its complex sounds, lots of highs and lows and, mainly, tons of bass, and never had any complaints. For a moment I thought it was a CD playing in the CD player. It was at this point flawless. So, I can say that this thing packs some truly great sound quality, and the any denial of that should be ignored. Idk why they got it wrong, but they must've missed something.
AND about the static and interference when using the thing in the car, here goes: I know why exactly. It's not the product's fault. 1st, it depends on how close the transmitter is to your car's antenna, not how close it is to the radio! Obviously, the range on this thing isn't spectacular, so what you have to do is take your iPod and drop it somewhere near the antenna. My antenna is at the back center of the roof, so I drop my iPod behind the back seats. Now for the 2nd and very obvious but still quite ignored factor: you need patience. You need to take the time to look for an empty radio channel by trying many one by one, until you find the right one. Set the transmitter at the same frequency, drop your iPod close to the antenna and you're set.
So, as I said: works great, under impeccable circumpstances. It's complicated, that's for sure. There's also the single button for setting up the channel on the transmitter, which is sort of inconvenient. There's also the LCD, which should be on as long as the iPod's screen is on.
But for the price, this is a great-looking gadget that replaces the stubborn and inconvenient wired FM transmitter, if you're willing to slice through its flaws."

Be Careful, OS Specific

Date:August 10, 2010
"I purchased and it didn't work. after some trial and error I found out that it doesn't seem to be compatible with Iphone OS 4.0.1
When I plugged it in, it powers and charges but can't get the audio source from the phone.
After downgrading my OS to 3.1.3, everything worked perfect.y.
I gave it an ease of use because of the OS issue, otherwise it is completely straight forward."

Iphone wireless FM transmitter

Date:July 24, 2010
"Wow....!
This product out performed all of my expectations. As usual I was very skeptical standing in line buying this transmitter. However, when I got home, I was pleasantly surprised with it's sound quality. I was not expecting it to work so well. You just plug it in and push the button on the front and it WORKS. That's it!
For the price, you can't beat this product. My only complaint.....no instructions. But really, who needs instructions when all you have to do is plug in and push the button.
If you want, you can purchase a similar BRAND NAME product that does the same thing (Griffin) or you can buy this product and pocket the extra cash. Either way, they all do the same thing and the quality is exactly the same.

Works great, but bad connection

Date:June 2, 2010
"I thought this was going to be perfect. I would have given it 5 stars on day one, but as I started to drive, I found the connection to the iPod terrible. There are no clips on the connection to keep it in place and when you hit any bump (NS is loaded with them!) the connection is lost. My iPod touch is fairly new.
Otherwise, the sound quality is great, very easy to use. No instructions necessary (don't include any). It charges the iPod at the same time, and can be used without the power cord. I would not recommend this if you want to use it and drive at the same time."
